Mungo Gurney interests in the creation of textiles, fine art, color and pattern, which is the focal point of his designs, since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2006 with a 1st BA Honors in womenswear fashion design.
Mungo says “I find inspiration in lights, architecture, interior spaces and vintage hand embroideries. I am always working, creating and developing prints.” “Explorative at this early stage: I start thinking about shapes early, trying to develop cuts that will give the right base for the seasonal fabric development. I like to develop my fabrics through inventive art process – painting, xerox photocopying, photography- combining 2d and 3d. Developing custom fabrics and colour boards by hand is essential to give unique detail to garments.”
