It’s that time of the year! Maniamania has finalllyy launched their new collection: Performance. After working with Dree Hemingway for two years, the iconic Australian jewelry house chose quirky model and musican Jamie Bochert to front the campaign of the collection this time; which gets its inspiration from the underground scene of Laurel Canyon and San Francisco in the 1960s and 70s, activist and model Uschi Obermaier, as well as fashion’s favourite musical vanguard of Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Jimi Hendrix. (No wonder they wanted Jamie to model, right?)
Brass, silver, clear quartz, smokey quartz and amazonite are the most recurrent materials used this season, with mysterious and whimsical shapes that have already became a trademark of Maniamania. (The Modern Utopian collection is still my favourite by far, I still haven’t encountered a jewelry collection that gives me goose bumps like it does. It has been imitated hundreds of times, yet there is nothing quite comperable to the original ones. Just amazing.)
