Is it too early to start summer dreamin? Becuase as I recall it was officially summer last week. I have no idea where the hell it went but it made me lay aside my winter knits and take out the crop tops and shorts already. And what better cliche than using the inseperable palm tree – summer bond: if you can’t go and have your vacation yet, carry the essence like a rain (sun) prayer. The shopping guide and some keeping you off work daydreaming materials are after the jump!

Sacred Space
Right now what I need more than anything else is a quiet, comfortable space with the perfect ligthing at which I can be completely away from any kind of technology, just to read books for hours. Since I can not stay away from my computer when I’m at home (I’m really an addict) I step outside and go to a park everyday for couple of hours – but I definitely need to build myself a fort, hopefully when I move to my home in September. It will probably be impossible to do it like the photos as I need to have the built-in space but still, what can’t you do with pillows and a wall?
Inside Athena Calderone’s Brooklyn Home
And her incredible style, apparently. A former model and now interior designer; Athena Calderone’s only rule of design is “you should never follow any rules”. “I am all about mixing and contrasting elements. I think a room should never strike just one note. I love combining polarizing qualities and using elements that seem like they shouldn’t work, but do. I think it creates a tension that brings intrigue and curiosity to a space.”
“I am definitely all about extremes in how I dress and how I design a room. Never too much of the same period in decor and never too many items from the same store or designer. I love mixing the raw and the refined; mixing high and low so things don’t feel too precious or over thought.”
